about us

Cyn.jpg

My wife and I were both saved, baptized, and discipled at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Bowie, Maryland. Cynthia grew up faithfully riding the church bus and hearing the gospel each week. As a child, she made several professions of faith but gained full assurance of her salvation as a teenager. I was raised in the Catholic Church and did not hear a clear presentation of the gospel growing up. Cynthia and I met in high school and began attending Woodlawn Baptist Church together as teenagers. In 1997, I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior, and Cynthia rededicated her life to the Lord. Together, we began to grow spiritually and became active in the bus ministry.

In 1998, the Lord called me to preach—the same year Cynthia and I were married. I went on to graduate from Chesapeake Baptist College in 2002 with a B.A. in Bible and began serving as assistant pastor under Dr. Ron Fenwick. From 2002 to 2011, we had the privilege of serving in a variety of ministries, including Sunday school, Spanish ministry, soul-winning, baseball ministry, discipleship of new converts, and teaching in both the church academy and Bible institute.

During these years, God blessed us with four children, and we are deeply grateful for His work in each of their lives. In 2011, after much prayer and wise counsel, the Lord confirmed His call for us to plant churches in the Dominican Republic.

In 2014, our family of six completed deputation and moved to the Dominican Republic to follow God’s call. We began serving alongside the Sidler family in Quita Sueño de Haina, and later with the Wesson and Jordan families in Máximo Gómez, Santo Domingo. In 2018, the Lord led us to Nagua on the northern coast, where we partnered with Jeffri and Pamela Polanco to plant North Coast Baptist Church. God has graciously blessed this ministry and continues to use it to reach souls for Christ.

At the end of that same year, the Lord directed us back to the United States to address our children’s health and spiritual needs. Though a refining season, it brought healing and growth in their lives. During this time, God allowed us to serve at Victory Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, Maryland, where I pastored for five years. These years were marked by growth, fruitful ministry, and many blessings.

Through prayer and godly counsel, the Lord has now confirmed His call for us to return to the Dominican Republic. Our vision is to strengthen North Coast Baptist Church, establish a Bible institute, train national pastors, and plant churches in neighboring towns still unreached by the gospel.

We are currently applying with Baptist International Missions, Inc. and are honored to be sent out of Victory Baptist Church. It is our desire to partner with churches like yours to see souls saved, disciples made, and Christ glorified across the Dominican Republic.
