Chad: As a child I was raised and baptized Roman Catholic, but had never heard the Bible preached. I was 17 when I met Cynthia and we began attending Woodlawn Baptist Church where we were saved and baptized under the preaching of Dr. Ron Fenwick. I graduated from Chesapeake Baptist College under Dr. Barney Lyon in 2002 and was given the opportunity to serve as assistant pastor in 2003. After serving under Pastor Fenwick for 7 years as his assistant, then under Pastor Tyson for 2 years, God deeply burdened my heart for the Dominican.

Cynthia: I started riding the bus to Woodlawn Baptist Church when I was 4 years old, but I wasn’t saved until I was 15. It was then that I completely surrendered my life to the Lord. I have always had a heart for missions, especially to Hispanic people. In summer of 2000 Woodlawn Baptist Church began a Spanish ministry; I helped as a translator and soul-winner. In 2011 the Lord burdened my husband and I for missions. It has been a great honor and joy to serve alongside my husband as a missionary in the Dominican Republic.
